All the consents and licences required for the tidal turbines and associated export cable to Islay will be administered by Marine Scotland. In order to obtain these, a detailed environmental impact assessment (EIA) process is undertaken which starts with pre-screening, formal scoping, a series of baseline surveys and then an assessment of possible impacts. Consultation with stakeholders including Local Fishing Interests, SNH, RSPB, the Local Community all form part of this exercise. Additional consents will be required for any on island grid connection works.
